About Us

Welcome to Hillcroft Primary School.

Hillcroft Primary School has a long history in Caterham, dating back to 1872, when it consisted of separate infant schools, one for the boys and one for girls. Evidence of this can still be seen today, above the original entrance to the school. In 1903 the schools became council schools and in 1936 the boys and girls departments were merged. It was not until 1993, however, that Hillcroft County Primary School was formed after merging the then First and Middle schools.

At Hillcroft, we are fortunate to have a dedicated and hardworking team of teaching and support staff, who work to ensure that our children are successful learners. We have high expectations of work and behaviour and our children grow into responsible, caring young people, willing to tackle any challenge presented to them.

Whilst our website provides a flavour of what makes Hillcroft a good school, we highly recommend that you visit our school, where we know that you will receive a warm welcome and meet both staff and children who are keen to talk to you and answer any question that you may have.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
